Semi Conductor Devices (SCD) ‒ a global leader in the development and manufacture of a wide range of cooled and uncooled infrared detectors ‒ has won several contracts in North America and Europe, with a total value of more than $40M, for the supply of Mid-Wave Infra-Red (MWIR) High-Definition (HD) detectors for observation and surveillance applications.
SCD’s advanced HD MWIR detector product lines enable exceptionally high fidelity imaging for varied applications installed on systems worldwide, for airborne, ground and naval applications. The SCD HD solutions enable high performance for varied applications enabling cost-effective, high MTBF, low maintenance requirements. These contracts were recently signed with three different customers for applications including border surveillance, infrastructure protection, counter-UAV systems, and long-range airborne surveillance. Deliveries will begin in the third quarter of 2019.
According to Dan Slasky, CEO at SCD, “We are proud to have been selected by key customers in North America and Europe to supply solutions based on our advanced and proven MWIR detectors. We are seeing an increased demand for High-Definition MWIR detectors for many types of applications. The HD product line at SCD is in full-rate production at high monthly rates and is the result of significant R&D and capital invested in the HD product lines over the past years."
These SCD detectors will be integrated into the above-mentioned programs in North America and Europe:
